People Generalist

As one of Vanta’s first dedicated HR generalists, you will bring HR expertise across a multitude of functions to play a critical role in the growth of Vanta. You will have an opportunity to help build critical HR programs, processes, systems, and structures, while building direct relationships with leaders and employees across the business to inform and improve those efforts. This role reports directly to Vanta’s Head of Operations & BD.

The role

You will...

  • Work with the Vanta People team to build critical HR infrastructure that enables Vanta’s future successful growth
  • Provide a consultative, tactical, and strategic HR point of view across the company, supporting a variety of people operations needs as the business requires
  • Leverage your HR expertise across many functions (e.g., compensation, benefits, payroll, HRIS, learning & development, employee relations), providing support as business priorities adjust 
  • Provide day-to-day support for Vanta employees in doing their best work
  • Build trusted relationships with managers and leaders by providing expertise and insights to help develop high impact teams
  • Evangelize and be an ambassador for our Vanta’s culture, values, and mission 
  • Collaborate with org leaders to grow and scale teams in thoughtful ways
  • Understand Vanta's operating principles and translate them into effective organizational structures and initiatives

You might...

  • Have 2+ years of experience in HR, with some experience at a high-growth tech company, preferably in enterprise SaaS
  • Balance your strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an empathetic communication approach
  • Be a builder and be comfortable implementing HR systems from 0 to 1 (and 1 to 10)
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, jumping in and collaborating actively across teams

About us

We started by building the simplest way for a company to prepare for a SOC 2 assessment.

We started with SOC 2 because it was the most common way for an internet business to prove its security. In the course of building for SOC 2, we built out a suite of security tools that every internet business needs: laptop management, account monitoring, employee onboarding and offboarding, cloud infrastructure configuration, policy documentation, and more.

Over time, we’ll add additional certifications (HIPAA, ISO27001) and partner with industry experts to bolster the ways a business’ security is proved. We’re just getting started.

Our goal is to demystify internet security to the average person, equipping beginners with sane defaults and growing them into security-savvy principals who can explain how their company protects customer data and why their business is worthy of your trust.
