Customer Marketing Manager

Vanta is on a mission to secure the internet and protect consumer data. Our security tools have already been adopted by hundreds of companies including Lattice, Notion, Chili Piper, Clubhouse, Gem and more, mostly through word of mouth.

Now, we’re looking to hire our first Customer Marketer to amplify the voices of our customers, leverage their testimonials as a powerful tool to attract new leads, and empower our happy customers to become advocates on our behalf.

The role

You will...

  • Be Vanta’s customer advocate with a deep understanding of and empathy for our customers’ goals, behaviors, and motivations
  • Talk to our customers regularly. Identify and engage customers to participate in marketing and sales activities, such as customer stories, speaking engagements, blog posts, PR, reference calls, etc. 
  • Create content with customers that is mutually beneficial and compelling for a broader audience
  • Launch new communication channels to engage and educate our customers on product updates, new content, and other updates from Vanta
  • Work closely with our content writer and creative teams to create fresh content for our blog and social channels, including customer-centric content like case studies
  • Work closely with Customer Success and Product Marketing to prototype new ideas like a Customer Advisory Board, Roundtables, or other forums to turn happy customers into brand advocates and foster an authentic community amongst Vanta’s customers
  • Identify KPIs, measure and report on customer marketing activities so we can test and iterate

You might...

  • Be in a customer-facing role, such as customer marketing, account management or field marketing 
  • Produce impactful content with customers, from case studies to videos to live events
  • Have strong leadership skills and experience working across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product Teams
  • Be passionate about building genuine communities - whether in-person or online

About us

We started by building the simplest way for a company to prepare for a SOC 2 assessment.

We started with SOC 2 because it was the most common way for an internet business to prove its security. In the course of building for SOC 2, we built out a suite of security tools that every internet business needs: laptop management, account monitoring, employee onboarding and offboarding, cloud infrastructure configuration, policy documentation, and more.

Over time, we’ll add additional certifications (HIPAA, ISO27001) and partner with industry experts to bolster the ways a business’ security is proved. We’re just getting started.

Our goal is to demystify internet security to the average person, equipping beginners with sane defaults and growing them into security-savvy principals who can explain how their company protects customer data and why their business is worthy of your trust.
