Building meaningful connections through corporate gifting

Reachdesk is a corporate gifting and direct mail platform designed to help businesses create more meaningful connections with prospects, customers, and employees. It enables marketing, sales, and customer success teams to send personalized, data-driven gifts at scale. Reachdesk also integrates with popular CRM and marketing tools, allowing companies to automate gifting campaigns, track engagement, and measure ROI across the customer lifecycle.

As Reachdesk prepared to move upmarket and work with larger enterprise customers, the company needed to mature its compliance program. Reachdesk chose Vanta as its compliance automation platform to centralize compliance frameworks, automate evidence collection, and maintain a continuous compliance program throughout the year. Reachdesk also brought on the professional services firm Moss Adams, which has since combined with Baker Tilly, as a trusted partner to streamline the audit process.

THE CHALLENGE

Rising expectations and limited resources

For high-growth SaaS companies like Reachdesk, building trust with enterprise buyers requires a credible, scalable, and audit-ready security program. As the company scaled, Reachdesk’s Head of IT, Harpal Deol, managed increasingly complex compliance requirements with a lean team. Without dedicated compliance resources, manual processes made it challenging to maintain visibility over access controls, employee lifecycle events, and audit preparation.

“Before Vanta, it was difficult to keep track of everything in one place,” Deol explains. “It was hard to find evidence, monitor security reviews, and track policy acknowledgements or test completion consistently.”

In the absence of automation, tasks like onboarding and security training were tracked manually through spreadsheets and calendar invites—methods that weren’t built for scale. If someone didn’t respond to a calendar invite, it wasn’t always clear whether their training had been completed. Visibility into access controls and test statuses was also limited.

“Vanta helped surface access gaps that weren’t visible before,” says Deol. “It gave us clarity and confidence in our controls.”  

Without a centralized system, assigning control ownership across departments was more time-consuming, and staying continuously audit-ready became harder as the company grew.

Having already achieved SOC 2 Type 1, Reachdesk began fielding requests from enterprise customers for SOC 2 Type 2—a growing expectation in the SaaS market. Meeting that standard required a more automated and mature compliance program built for scale.

After implementing Vanta, Deol immediately saw improvements across the board. Vanta gave Reachdesk full visibility into user access and training completion. Integrations with existing systems allowed the team to monitor onboarding, offboarding, and compliance testing in one place. Instead of manually checking tool access, Vanta proactively flagged any lingering credentials—ensuring that former employees no longer had access to platforms like Gong.

Meanwhile, Moss Adams stepped in as a trusted advisor—providing guidance and essential continuity within the partnership. “We’ve worked with the same people at Moss Adams for multiple audits—and that continuity really matters,” he says. “They know our business, they know our systems, and they’re always available when we need them.”

Moss Adams also benefits from Reachdesk’s use of Vanta. The platform gives auditors direct, self-serve access to essential information like background checks, training confirmations, and access reviews through Vanta’s 375+ integrations with SaaS tools. This allows Moss Adams to easily see that tests are complete and changes are documented, giving them confidence in the completeness and accuracy of the evidence. It also saves time for both the client and the auditor.

Before each audit, Moss Adams works closely with Reachdesk to understand what has changed in the environment, whether it's a shift in tooling, staffing, or the cadence of the audit itself, and which of Vanta’s custom solutions should be applied. “Moss Adams not only helps with that customization,” Deol says. “They also advise, guide, and genuinely care.”

Even between audits, the support doesn’t stop. Deol communicates with Moss Adams via Slack to get quick answers to questions or receive help with exporting data. “That duty of care is what I look for,” he says.

With Vanta and Moss Adams in place, Deol effectively manages Reachdesk’s entire compliance program without increasing headcount. And because Moss Adams understands Reachdesk’s tools and workflows, they can guide the audit process instead of simply requesting documents. Audit preparation, which used to take three months, now takes just one.
