Today, we're excited to announce a collection of new capabilities that improves the audit experience for Vanta customers and their auditors.

From before the audit even begins through audit closure — and every step along the way — Vanta has made improvements to streamline processes and increase opportunities for collaboration. Some capabilities are currently in preview, and we’ll continue to release new capabilities in the coming weeks and months.

The traditional audit experience

Audits can be complicated and time-consuming. Manual processes, traditional communication methods (such as phone calls and emails), and more recently, Slack messages, can slow your audit progress and hurt efficiency.

Being able to easily gather evidence and collaborate with your auditor is essential if you want your audit to be completed quickly and efficiently. From the start, Vanta has been building products that enable a better audit experience and combat traditional audit pitfalls. To date, the Vanta platform has been used thousands of times to complete audits faster than previously possible. Building off of this foundation, we’re now taking the audit experience to the next level.

Take charge of your audit, from the very start

From the moment you begin your audit journey, you have what you need in the Vanta platform to successfully complete an audit. You can create an audit engagement using any of Vanta’s 20+ supported frameworks or you can create a custom framework.

During the setup process, you can add the start and end dates of your audit window, and you can select both your audit firm and the specific auditor at that firm. If you want to grant your auditor early access to your Vanta data before your audit window begins, you can do that as well.

One thing you won’t need to do is fill out any type of “audit readiness” form outside of  Vanta.

Know exactly where your audit stands

With Vanta, you can always see the progress of your audit. Get clear, granular statuses that tell you exactly where everything stands, down to the details of every piece of evidence. You also have the ability to see exactly what your auditor sees when they log in to Vanta.

Collaborate with your auditor without leaving Vanta

Effective collaboration with your auditor goes beyond just the ability to see the status of different pieces of evidence. Vanta lets you communicate back and forth  directly within the platform so that when  questions come up, you and your auditor can easily work together to resolve them without resorting to long email chains or meetings.
