Introducing Vanta's Connectors API
Securing the internet through automation and openness
Organizations of all sizes seek to automate their security and compliance programs to the greatest extent possible—without compromising on effectiveness or spending beyond what is necessary. In 2016, Vanta led the SaaS industry’s shift in viewing compliance as an event that happens once a year to an automated, always-on approach.
Vanta uses real-time connections from your most critical business tools and assets to provide a clear roadmap towards security certification. Along the way, our platform continuously monitors your business system and surfaces potential issues.
The trust we help customers foster with their end-users relies on a system of openness in the form of integrations. With 75+ integrations ranging from cloud services, identity providers, MDMs, HR tools, version control, and beyond—Vanta’s in the business of securing the world’s most widely used online tools for the benefit of our customers and their users.
The Connectors API
To extend the openness and full potential of the Vanta platform, we’re introducing our Connectors API. The Connectors API unlocks the potential for any developer to send pertinent security information to Vanta. In turn, Vanta users are more secure for having real-time data from their various business services under one roof for ongoing monitoring.
Technology partners can use the Connectors API to build and publish their own integrations on Vanta’s integration network. Partner-built integrations look and operate like native connections, working seamlessly for Vanta users. Data originating from third-party services are shared via the Connectors API, resulting in increased security and compliance automation for our mutual customers.
For Vanta customers, the launch of the Connectors API demonstrates our commitment to make Vanta the most advanced, technology-forward cloud compliance platform on the market. By using both third-party and native built integrations, you can rest assured knowing that Vanta can adapt to your evolving tech stack as your organization grows overtime.
Celebrating our technology partners

We’re excited to launch the Connectors API with nearly a dozen technology partners. Our launch partners bring extended coverage to the Vanta platform, including new integrations for incident management, security training, MDM, task tracking, and secret storage.
To highlight the value our technology partners bring to our users, consider Incident.io, whose novel Slack-based incident management solution enables teams to easily and quickly assemble to tackle critical service issues. Or Kolide, whose endpoint security management tool helps remote teams identify potential security threats and coaches employees to self-remediate security tasks all within Slack.
Metadata flows securely from technology partners like Incident.io and Kolide to power important Vanta pages and tests. Vanta users can review account access information and satisfy compliance standard requirements by using partner-built integrations. Mutual customers recognize increased value for both services and are more likely to renew when your service becomes part of the compliance solution.
Connectors API for Vanta customers
Opening the Connectors API to technology partners is just the beginning. In the coming months, we’ll begin rolling out the API to Vanta customers who can use the framework to write their own private connections. Stay tuned!
By connecting your tech stack to Vanta, your options are limitless in customizing how you’d like Vanta to leverage first-party data for continuous security monitoring and compliance automation. This unlocks a truly customizable approach to how your system and Vanta communicate to keep your business and end-users secure. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting development.

PCI Compliance Selection Guide
Determine Your PCI Compliance Level
If your organization processes, stores, or transmits cardholder data, you must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a global mandate created by major credit card companies. Compliance is mandatory for any business that accepts credit card payments.
When establishing strategies for implementing and maintaining PCI compliance, your organization needs to understand what constitutes a Merchant or Service Provider, and whether a Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) or Report on Compliance (ROC) is most applicable to your business.
Answer a few short questions and we’ll help identify your compliance level.
Does your business offer services to customers who are interested in your level of PCI compliance?
Identify your PCI SAQ or ROC level
The PCI Security Standards Council has established the below criteria for Merchant and Service Provider validation. Use these descriptions to help determine the SAQ or ROC that best applies to your organization.
Good news! Vanta supports all of the following compliance levels:
A SAQ A is required for Merchants that do not require the physical presence of a credit card (like an eCommerce, mail, or telephone purchase). This means that the Merchant’s business has fully outsourced all cardholder data processing to PCI DSS compliant third party Service Providers, with no electronic storage, processing, or transmission of any cardholder data on the Merchant’s system or premises.
Get PCI DSS certified
A SAQ A-EP is similar to a SAQ A, but is a requirement for Merchants that don't receive cardholder data, but control how cardholder data is redirected to a PCI DSS validated third-party payment processor.

A SAQ D includes over 200 requirements and covers the entirety of PCI DSS compliance. If you are a Service Provider, a SAQ D is the only SAQ you’re eligible to complete.
Use our PCI checklist
A Report on Compliance (ROC) is an annual assessment that determines your organization’s ability to protect cardholder data. If you’re a Merchant that processes over six million transactions annually or a Service Provider that processes more than 300,000 transactions annually, your organization is responsible for both a ROC and an Attestation of Compliance (AOC).
