What’s New in Vanta

February 3, 2021

We are always working to improve Vanta so that our customers can get SOC 2 compliant faster, with less manual work.

Recently, we’ve rolled out a few of our most-asked-for integrations and made small but noticeable usability improvements that make Vanta easier and more intuitive.

“Vanta's expert team helped analyze our compliance requirements and shared what was needed to complete a SAQ-D. Because of this, we accelerated our timelines, saved hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars in costs.”

Automate more of your workflow with new integrations

Vanta uses read-only integrations with many of the tools you’re already using, so you can spend less time collecting evidence and more time building products. Based on customer feedback, we’ve recently added and enhanced several integrations:

Jamf: Having an endpoint security solution in place is critical for a SOC 2. Now, you can choose to use either Vanta’s own agent or Jamf Pro as this solution. Vanta's integration automatically pulls data from Jamf to check for hard drive encryption, password managers, and malware detection software on employee computers.

MongoDB Atlas: Vanta now works with MongoDB Atlas, a global cloud database service. This integration allows Vanta to continuously monitor your settings and ensure they're set up securely. You can also determine which clusters you’d like to track within Vanta.

GitLab's task tracker: We’ve added support for GitLab's task tracker to Vanta’s existing GitLab integration. Now, you can pull in tasks to Vanta and check that you're meeting SLAs for security issues. This is enabled automatically if you already have a GitLab integration.

Azure container scanning: We have added Azure container scanning to our vulnerabilities detection product. When you enable Azure Defender, we'll automatically pull in vulnerabilities from your containers and surface them to ensure you meet your compliance requirements.

Vanta connects with most major cloud providers: Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Heroku, and Azure. You can set your cloud provider on the Connections page.

Usability enhancements to streamline your experience

We have also added a number of small enhancements to make your experience on Vanta smoother.

PDF export for Vanta reports: Now, you can export your Vanta security reports as PDFs so they are easier to share with prospective customers. (Tip: sending Vanta reports preemptively and early in the sales process gives you the best chance of heading off vendor questionnaires!)

Improved search experience for Tasks: We’ve added search to the Tasks page, so you can quickly see the status of a given task.

There’s a lot more rolling out as well, like clearer instructions for remediating failing tests, and many bug fixes.

As always, we appreciate and value your feedback.
