Meet the Team!

Meet Hayley! 👋
Hayley is an Account Executive on the Sales team in Vanta’s customer-facing org. She's been at Vanta since February 2020.
Tell us about your role at Vanta.
I joined Vanta as one of the first AEs; we’re now a team of 10! Our MO is to find, engage, and consult customers on the best compliance strategy for their business, and to showcase Vanta’s unique approach to automating different security standards.
What made you realize this was the right career field for you?
I was looking for a career that would give me autonomy and flexibility in my schedule and a dynamic day-to-day. Sales played to my strengths, specifically my goal-oriented mindset. It lets me “compete for a team,” and I like to see how the results of my work impact the business directly.
I’m also a people person; I love the challenge of uncovering someone’s pain points . It’s a bit like solving a puzzle when you first connect with people — I love trying to understand what their problems and end goals are, and how we fit into that puzzle.
Why did you choose Vanta over other companies?
After three years at a Fortune 100 company, I was excited (and ready) to join a startup. One reason I chose Vanta was impact — I wanted my career in sales to have a direct business impact. I also wanted that impact to reach into multiple areas: marketing, product development, and go-to-market strategy. I wanted exposure to all the areas of business to learn what it takes to bring a startup from seed stage to Series A and B and beyond.

The other reason Vanta stood out to me was both the product-market fit and quality of leadership. I came from the cybersecurity world and saw the compliance side as completely untapped. Vanta was the first to disrupt the space. But before I jumped on this rocketship,” I needed to trust the crew. I was (and continue to be) impressed with all the people I met at Vanta and the humility of the leadership. I had (have) complete trust in Christina (CEO) and Eric’s (VP Sales) leadership over the company’s long-term growth.
What excites you about Vanta’s product?
I’ve had hundreds of conversations with startup founders who are building unique, highly impressive businesses and just want to do right by their own customers — and I’m excited to make that easier. I’m most excited to introduce a way to prove continuous security, without derailing business goals or budgets. It’s fun to be on sales calls and see the relief wash over a person’s face when they realize they don’t have to do this alone.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I planned a trip for 2020, and re-planned it for 2021… and I will plan it again for 2022 if I have to! Me and a group of friends plan to hike across the Dolomites in Italy for 10 days on a route called the Alta Via 1. For the past five years, I’ve been lucky enough to trek through some pretty epic mountain ranges: Tour de Mont Blanc, Salkantay & “the O” in Torres del Paine have been some of my favorites!

PCI Compliance Selection Guide
Determine Your PCI Compliance Level
If your organization processes, stores, or transmits cardholder data, you must comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), a global mandate created by major credit card companies. Compliance is mandatory for any business that accepts credit card payments.
When establishing strategies for implementing and maintaining PCI compliance, your organization needs to understand what constitutes a Merchant or Service Provider, and whether a Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) or Report on Compliance (ROC) is most applicable to your business.
Answer a few short questions and we’ll help identify your compliance level.
Does your business offer services to customers who are interested in your level of PCI compliance?
Identify your PCI SAQ or ROC level
The PCI Security Standards Council has established the below criteria for Merchant and Service Provider validation. Use these descriptions to help determine the SAQ or ROC that best applies to your organization.
Good news! Vanta supports all of the following compliance levels:
A SAQ A is required for Merchants that do not require the physical presence of a credit card (like an eCommerce, mail, or telephone purchase). This means that the Merchant’s business has fully outsourced all cardholder data processing to PCI DSS compliant third party Service Providers, with no electronic storage, processing, or transmission of any cardholder data on the Merchant’s system or premises.
Get PCI DSS certified
A SAQ A-EP is similar to a SAQ A, but is a requirement for Merchants that don't receive cardholder data, but control how cardholder data is redirected to a PCI DSS validated third-party payment processor.

A SAQ D includes over 200 requirements and covers the entirety of PCI DSS compliance. If you are a Service Provider, a SAQ D is the only SAQ you’re eligible to complete.
Use our PCI checklist
A Report on Compliance (ROC) is an annual assessment that determines your organization’s ability to protect cardholder data. If you’re a Merchant that processes over six million transactions annually or a Service Provider that processes more than 300,000 transactions annually, your organization is responsible for both a ROC and an Attestation of Compliance (AOC).
